Animal Behavior Specialist

Elaina Franklin is the owner for Positive Solutions Animal Training and former Supervisor of Animal Training and Assistant Stranding Coordinator from Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Elaina has a Bachelor of Science degree in both Animal Behavior and Biology from Towson University.

Over the past 18 years, she has gained a wealth of knowledge by working in the fields of animal rescue, rehab, education, conservation, and training. Her experiences involve marine rescue and rehab work with dolphins, seals, and sea turtles, training dolphins, river otters, nurse sharks, and domestic animals, and husbandry work with rainforest birds, monkeys and sloths. She also has 5 years’ experience working as a high school educator teaching Honors Marine Biology and Environmental Science, and was the sponsor for the recycling club. Elaina is passionate about saving the ocean and has always considered herself a voice for the animals.  She understands the “empty the tanks” movement, and is driven to educate why this is not always the best practice for every animal.

SEAS is honored to welcome Elaina to the team, appreciating that her vast experience, energy, dedication, leadership and readiness substantiates her specialty in the conversation about the importance of sanctuaries, and elevates her as a leader in our quest to help make sanctuaries a reality for rescued, rehabilitating or retiring wild animals.
